The health benefits and uses of neem oil.
1. Neem oil is made from fruits and seeds of the Azadirachta indica, an evergreen tree in the mahogany family.
2. This is native the Indian subcontinent, and has been used as a natural medicine in India since ancient times.
3. Neem oil is best known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties, making it excellent for use on the skin.
4. It can be used to treat pimples and acne, by rubbing on the skin on a daily basis.
5. This should be mixed with a little coconut or olive oil for the best effects.
6. It is very moisturising and has regenerative properties, allowing your skin to heal very quickly.
7. You can also apply this to sensitive skin which has eczema. It will sooth the skin and bring down inflammation.
8. The same works for scabies, psoriasis and can even be used to treat athlete’s foot.
9. If you do intend to use this on athlete’s foot, be sure to rub this all over the foot and in-between the toes on a daily basis for at least 2 weeks.
10. Neem oil is also used to create a mouth rinse, which can heal gingivitis and periodontal disease. You can also use neem leaf powder with this for a stronger solution.
11. It is often used in medical shampoos and works well to eliminate dandruff on the scalp.
12. Neem oil is often made into a cream which can be applied to pet’s fur to get rid of fleas and ticks.
13. This also works on humans as an insect repellent, and is even used in the garden to prevent pests from eating fresh produce.
14. If you have bed bugs, you can use products which contains high concentrations of neem oil to destroy them, including the eggs, nymphs and adults.
15. Neem Bark is also used to make an oil, which is used to treat chicken pox and malaria.
