Green Papaya Benefits


The health benefits and of green papayas, also known as pawpaw. 

1. Papayas come from the genus Carica and are native to southern Mexico, but are now grown all over the world in tropical countries.

2. Unripened green papayas have some fantastic health benefits which can aid your body in many different ways.

3. Green papayas contain many more live enzymes than the ripe version of the fruit. These including papain and chymopapain.

4. These enzymes help to break down food in the body, including carbohydrates, fats and proteins. 

5. They can help you to lose weight, and boost the digestive system. This regulates both Irritable bowel syndrome and constipation.

6. Papain has also been shown to reduce skin allergies such as heat hives.

7. The fruit also contains Vitamin C, A, folate, fibre, magnesium, potassium, copper and pantothenic acid.

8. If you have diabetes, eating green papaya can reduce the glucose levels in the blood by increasing insulin synthesis naturally.

18. We recommend making an ice tea using green papaya, guava and watermelon. You can simply slice these up and add to a jug of water. Let them sit in the refrigerator overnight to infuse and drink. 

19. You can also mash the fruit into a paste and apply to the face to remove pigmentation. Be sure to let it sit on the skin for at least 15 minutes before washing.
