Learning Styles (Auditory, Visual and Kinasthetic) & How To Integrate These Into Your Research

My goal is the expansion of consciousness, by un-shielding unique aspects of the universe that we had not before noticed. Simply put, I wish to analyse the very depths of everything. To do this, I believe we have to gain a larger understanding of how our own perception operates, and how this correlates to our external environment.
It has become apparent to me, during the course of my research; that learning styles are particularly important when we start to study our own minds.
One of the key ingredients, to bettering ourselves and educating ourselves within the subjects in which we chose, is the method in which we learn the information.

Three Main Categories

The consensus within the scientific papers pertaining to this subject, have derived three main categories of learning styles. Visual, auditory and kinaesthetic (VAK). These categories relate to the sensory receivers that we use to take in information from the external world.
The visual learner is said to prefer to learn via visual linguistic matter, such as words and writing. They also prefer to write things down to help themselves to remember things. However, there are a subcategory of visual learners who prefer to use spatial matter such as charts, videos and faces.
The auditory learner is said to often talk to their selves and learn better by listening to other people communicating via speech.
The kinaesthetic learner is said to learn things better by physically touching and including tactile feeling in their environment. They work best by actually taking part in an activity, rather than being told how to take part in the activity. They also have a preference to scan reading material, before focusing in smaller details.
I think it’s important to get a basic understanding of these learning styles, and to find out which of these work best for you. I would be very eager I learn your particular learning style and quirks, so please post a comment.
I enjoy learning from all three levels. So much that when I took the test for this during my high school years, I was categorised as all three. I could never really decide which style I preferred, so went about learning using a mixture of the three. It seems that we have an ability to adapt to any of these styles, if the appropriate effort is implied. My website: www.breakingrealms.com has been built using a combination of these three styles.

Learning Styles & Research

Integrating your favourite learning style, into your studies and research is vitally important. There is an issue, that when we discover some fantastic information, and feel its truth and potential. We often go to sleep and slowly over the course of a few days, lose the thrill and key points of the information we have gathered.
In order to circumvent this very human problem, I have devised the following method.
  1. Record the “Eureka Moment” information. (Via writing, recording your own voice stating the information, and/or physically feeling your connection to the information for a long period of time)
  2. Revisit the information twice a day for a week, until it is fully embedded within your consciousness. I would stress here, that from my experience, a certain degree of kinaesthetic integration is essential, and compliments the other learning methods. (You must feel your connection to the information again and again, or else you will lose it.)
  3. Make use of the information. Integrate what you have learned into your life, and allow it to expand you.
  4. Make further research on the basis of the information. Never stop looking for more answers, and seek to always learn more.
I hope this article has had some use to you. If you are interested in sharing some of the knowledge that I have gathered, (and continue to do so) visit my website www.breakingrealms.com. Here I provide both visual (articles) audio (podcasts) and kinaesthetic (get involved and chat with me) material that you can get your teeth into.
