Watermelon Rind: Benefits


The health benefits and uses of watermelon rinds.

1. We all love the delicious taste of watermelon, however you can also eat the rind for some extra benefits.

2. The rind is white part of the fruit, just below the shell, and above the pink flesh.

3. We often throw this away, however this has more nutrients concentrated within it, than the fruit itself.

4. This contains a very high dose of L-citruline. This amino acid helps your blood vessels to expand, helping your body to circulate blood.

5. This will help to regulate your blood pressure, and get rid of any light headedness.

6. This is a powerful anti-oxidant and will protect your body from free radical damage.

7. The fluid within the rind is packed full of nutrients such as chlorophyll which is extremely healthy for your body overall.

8. This will boost your immune system and help you fight off diseases and infections.

9. It also works well to treat urinary tract infections. Simply eat this rind of 1 watermelon each day for one week.

10. To eat the rind, you should first peel away the green shell, and blend the white flesh to a fine mixture. It contains a lot of fibre and will help your body to process foods more effectively.
